Welcome! I’m Carrie Gabriel, a registered dietitian with over a decade of experience helping others reach their health goals through home cooking. Growing up as an overweight kid in a diet-focused world, I believed healthy eating meant bland, fat-free foods and endless deprivation. I once dreamed of being a broadcast journalist, but my path led me to nutrition—and eventually back to media, bringing my journey full circle. As I learned more about food and began cooking my own meals, I felt better and found it easier to maintain a healthy weight
It wasn’t until I went back to school for a masters in nutritional science that I really learned how to manage my weight. I would see classmates with glass containers full of food, and I figured out that I could manage my weight by learning how to cook more of my meals at home.
Understanding how to use ingredients like spices, fresh herbs and marinades to make food taste good really helped me look and feel my best, and I want show others that it is possible to make quick, easy and healthy meals at home, even when time is short. My passion for cooking and food has evolved into a multifaceted career that includes writing, speaking, online content creation and private chef services.
I’ve had the privilege of working with a variety of populations, guiding clients through personalized nutrition plans that prioritize health AND enjoyment.
As a private chef, I have been able to craft delicious, health-focused meals tailored to individual tastes and dietary needs. This hands-on experience enhances my approach to nutrition, allowing me to share practical cooking tips and delicious recipes.
I also have a strong background in media, contributing to a variety of health and wellness publications and creating engaging online content. My television appearances allow me to make nutrition accessible and enjoyable for everyone, bringing science-based insights into everyday life.
